"They [the monarchs] exist: these tiny creatures capable of navigating a continent's worth of impossible odds. And while the hazards they face may multiply, so too grows their legion of defenders. The defenders know that together, we—butterflies, humans, and our collective neighborhood of creatures—can be great."
— Sara Dykman, Bicycling With Butterflies
MILKWEED FOR MONARCHS
Each year, between late September and early October, the monarch butterfly migration path winds through Osage County, Oklahoma, giving Osage Passage riders the unique experience of riding alongside the monarchs as they dot the prairie fields. However, the monarch butterfly population is at risk as the butterflies lose more and more of their natural habitat.
We need YOUR help to save the monarchs. Join our monarch butterfly habitat restoration project at Osage Passage 2024, October 4-6. Together, we'll plant milkweed on-site at the John Zink Ranch to assist in redeveloping the monarch's natural habitat.
